Are you considering switching to different truck tires? As a transport company, choosing the right truck tires is crucial. The right tire reduces fuel costs and extends the lifespan of your fleet. But which tire is right for your specific routes and priorities? In this blog, we’ll explain how to make the best choice.
Long-Distance Transport (International)
Does your fleet cover many kilometers on the highway at constant speeds?
Priority: Fuel economy and low rolling resistance.
Recommended tires: Premium “EQmax,” “X Line,” or “Eco” lines, designed for long-haul travel.
Examples:
- Michelin X Line: Lowest rolling resistance and excellent mileage performance.
- Goodyear EQmax: Optimized for lower fuel consumption on long highway trips.
These tires help you reduce costs per kilometer and optimize fuel efficiency.
Regional Transport (Distribution)
Do you frequently drive on back roads, with frequent acceleration, braking, and maneuvering?
Priority: Durability and lateral grip.
Recommended tires: Robust tires with deep tread and reinforced sidewalls.
Examples:
- Continental Hybrid: Versatile for both highways and local roads.
- Goodyear Kmax: Specifically designed for high mileage in regional transport.
These tires offer optimal performance in constant stop-and-go conditions and reduce wear.
Construction and On/Off-Road Transport
Do you regularly drive on construction sites or unpaved terrain?
Priority: Damageresistance and maximum traction.
Recommended tires: “Mixed Service” or “Construction” tires with deep tread blocks.
Examples:
- Michelin X Works: Resistant to sharp objects and heavy loads.
- Goodyear Omnitrac: Optimal traction on loose or rough surfaces.
These tires ensure safety and reliability, even under severe conditions.
